Decks and Porches
Decks and porches are very important features of your home. They not only provide a great deal of curb appeal, but they are wonderful places to welcome and entertain guests.
Milton Construction specializes in all types of renovations of your outdoor living spaces—whether that be decks, porches, screened porches, or patios and sidewalks. There are many options for building materials to use—and often many different trades to coordinate—and we are able to handle your project from ideas through to your first cookout on a finished project.
The picture here on this page features a deck renovation on a home that was built in the 1980’s. Wood decking and railings were removed, framing repaired, and composite decking and lighted railings were installed to create a smooth and natural finished look. The decking and railings have almost no visible screws. Also added was a waterproofing system to keep rain out of the patio area underneath.
In the pictures that follow below, you will see a screened porch with composite tongue-and-groove flooring. This makes a great three-season area for relaxing and entertaining. Also, below is a photo of a front porch featuring the same tongue-and-groove decking with fiberglass columns. The homeowners for this project insisted on real wood railings that were custom made and painted for the authenticity and aesthetics desired.
When you scroll the images below, you will also see a traditional wood deck built out of treated pine. Even though this is the least expensive type of material to use, it still makes a very nice and usable outdoor living space.
We have skilled carpenters who can perform any renovation of existing decks and porches—or the creation of a new deck or porch addition to your home. We also have long standing relationships with masonry contractors, concrete contractors, and any other tradesman that may be required to complete your project.
Milton Construction Company recently renovated our entire 100 year old farmhouse…this was a lengthy process which they made as painless as possible. We wanted a screened porch. We’ve had screened porches before and they’re very comfortable to sit out on in the evening. We actually eat dinner out here, right now, most nights. We like sitting out here and having dinner. We recommend Milton Construction Company hands down.

Before to After Porch Build
Here is a quick walk through of a project we completed in Charlotte Court House, a rural community outside of Appomattox. These folks had a very small back porch and simply wanted something larger. We drew the plans and built the porch. Our customer could not have been more pleasant to work with.
We are enjoying a beautiful, well-constructed back porch built by Milton Construction Company. Todd and Domenic met with us several times discussing and making changes before beginning the construction. During the building, Cory and all employees were courteous and organized. If we have any future building projects, we will call Milton Construction Co.
