Milton Construction Company, a professional remodeling company based in Appomattox, Virginia, is always interested in meeting new carpenters who may potentially be good candidates to join our team and who are seeking to establish a career in building.

We are especially interested in a candidate who possesses a master plumbing certification, but who also interested to work as a skilled carpenter. We are not necessarily (yet) interested in venturing into plumbing work as a specialty, but the certification would add to our ability to perform needed tasks during our regular renovation and repair work.
We are also always wanting to meet folks whose experience is either that of a lead carpenter and/or a carpenter of journeyman level.
A lead carpenter would be able to basically build an entire house from the ground up (not that we do that nor do all of the required trades, but a lead carpenter will have the breadth of knowledge to understand all of the steps and whether or not they are being performed correctly.) This individual would (after they learn the ways/practices/preferences of how we work) be able to lead a crew on our remodeling projects and pass along the trades to younger carpenters.
A journeyman level carpenter is a younger person who obviously has the knack for carpentry work and just desires to be around more skilled carpenters and absorb new knowledge and skills by osmosis. This person would also have an eye to becoming a master carpenter as their career develops.
Our team is, and will continue to be made up of people who view working for our company, not as a job, but as a skilled profession that is in high demand in our community. We are interested in maintaining a skilled crew in the near future and also very much in passing along our craft to the next generation of builders. Being a skilled carpenter is much more than a job.
