Exterior Renovations
Does your home need a face-lift? After many years of enduring the elements, many types of siding need repair or replacement. Milton Construction is fully capable of all types of exterior renovation work to your home. This work entails all types of siding, exterior trim, porches (columns, ceilings, and railings), replacement windows, and gutters.
The picture on the top of this page is of an addition we built featuring fiber cement siding that was painted after it was installed. The photos here show a home that received a complete makeover on the outside, with pre-painted Hardie plank siding, new fiberglass columns, shutters, windows, trim and new gutters. On the back of the home we installed new windows in the sunroom by the swimming pool.
We are able to handle fairly routine jobs including vinyl siding and fiber cement siding. Sometimes, the project is more custom in nature, such as a master bath addition that required redwood siding and trim (scroll the images below to see this project).
In the summer of 2017, we had the privilege of helping to restore the Charles Sweeney cabin (circa 1830’s) in the Appomattox Courthouse National Historic Park. This project featured locally milled pine siding and other custom made trim. The Milton Construction crew was featured in the local news (WSET and The News & Advance) about the restoration of the historic Charles Sweeney cabin.
I am writing this letter to thank you for the excellent work you did on our home. From the first time I talked to Todd and explained the work we wanted done, I knew I had called the right company. We had Milton remove all the existing wood siding and they replaced it with Hardie Plank beaded Cedarmill siding. The facia, corners, rake board and frieze board were replaced with MiraTec composite trim.
Windows, gutters, and shutters were replaced as well as the front porch columns and ceiling. MiraTec louvers with vinyl screening were custom-made at their shop and replaced. The sunroom old windows and storm doors were removed and the room was re-framed and new double-hung windows and new storm doors were installed. Todd and his team (Domenic, Cory and Tom) did an excellent job at our home…very professional, kept us informed about every step of the process and left the job site in excellent condition. We would highly recommend Milton Construction Co. to anyone. We were very well pleased.
