Primitive American stone hearth and beamwork

The pictures on this page highlight several different vantage points from a recent finished basement which was part of a custom home we built in Appomattox, Virginia. This design featured a very charming stairway with a combination of wood and stone on the wall. You really feel like you are entering a cellar! Also featured are a wood stove and hearth, along with waterproof luxury vinyl plank flooring.

Forest Basement Finishing Project

We contracted with Milton Construction to finish our large unfinished basement. This included framing, sheetrock, flooring, painting, carpeting, a fireplace mantle, a propane fireplace, electrical, a full bathroom, French doors, a French drain, and a plumbing system to pump waste. The result was 800 additional square feet of living space and a new third bathroom for our children and grandchildren totaling 14! They handled it all with outstanding skill, professionalism, communication and friendliness.

Everything was done on time, on schedule, and according to the contract. There were quite literally no issues, and the few project changes we requested along the way were handled quickly and efficiently. We give our absolute highest recommendation to Milton Construction!
