Home Renovation with gorgeous Finish Carpentry
This home renovation project for Milton Construction Services is one of our most uncommon remodeling projects, simply because it does not fit any of our primary service categories. The job was completed in Forest neighboring Goode. Our client built their log cabin many years ago with the plan to finish the trim details after they moved in. Well time went by, and the husband passed away and the work was never completed. Yet the husband left meticulous notes in three-ring binders and drawings that were helpful sharing his vision. And the basement was full of wood that he had purchased to go along with his plans. We spent months “finishing” this log cabin.

We are proud of every aspect of this log cabin renovation and finishing project. Our client’s basement was full of trim and boards that needed to be stained and installed all over the house. The previous photo focuses mostly on the railings that we completed. And this next image shows the same railing highlighting the installation of the decorative metal piece that was provided.
Our work continued to the bathroom where we installed the upper boards on the wall.
We did so much varying work that it was hard to decide which work in progress to show. So here is where we framed up an electric fireplace, providing an appeal of a real chimney. It ended up with added stone work and looked very nice! The views are from the upstairs balcony.
There were many cool and challenging areas to this project. One include adding wood to the angled ceiling.
Our work continued outside. Milton Construction has lots of experience working with Decks and Porches. This deck was incomplete and we had to add the middle section along with the stairway and railing.
Coming back inside, we show the added 1×4 trim boards around the windows and doors throughout the house.
