Construction Assistance at The Historic Academy of Music Theater
Milton Construction Company has a long history in the Lynchburg area. Milton Construction’s primary focus is providing a full array of home remodeling and construction services including additions, kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, finished basements, and decks. Occasionally we deviate to help out other local businesses.
In 2024 we were so excited to have the opportunity to build the set for West Side Story at the Historic Academy of Music Theater in Lynchburg. We were also proud to have the owner of Milton’s son involved who played Tony.
The Theatre is one of Lynchburg’s most notable historical treasures. First opened in 1905, the theatre boasted perfect sightlines and extraordinary acoustics, attracting nationally acclaimed performing artists. After closing its doors in 1958, the theatre had remained unused for 60 years. Through the efforts of the board and staff, as well as the dedicated members of the community, the restorations of the Historic Theatre were brought to completion and the theatre was reopened in 2018.
Here is Milton starting the work.
The stage was now coming together.
The curtain was lifted for a fantastic show.
A well-deserved curtain call. We were so proud to watch our family member as well as help put together the backdrop of such a fine show.
